The CDC encourages children and elderly over the age of 65 get the flu vaccine. On April 22, 2010 the Environmental Protection Agency's new "Renovation, Repair and Painting Rule" went into affect. The Rule affects residential housing as well as child occupied facilities and public and commercial buildings built before 1978. This would include residential rental property, child day care facilities, elementary and secondary schools and other technical and trade schools. Lead paint has long been known to be a cause of cancer. The purpose of the rule is to protect workers and the building occupants from lead exposure during renovation, repair and remodeling.
